The Big Wheel In the early 80's gear boxes for all pumping units were difficult to get. Lufkin, American and a just a few other companies were even capable of manufacturing the larger gear boxes. Below is a pumping unit that was located south of Bowie in Montague County. This is the only one I ever saw. I don't know to what degree it worked or if at all!
At least we have to give someone credit for trying.
